It is expected that economic conditions throughout Alberta will create 400,000 new jobs by 2015, but only 300,000 new workers will enter the labour market, leaving a shortfall of 100,000 workers.To combat this shortfall, Edmonton Economic Development Corporation's Edmonton Workforce Connection (EWC) program provides employers and businesses with ideas, best practices and initiatives that can assist in meeting labour force challenges and help businesses and employers in Greater Edmonton maintain their operational goals.Take steps to meet your workforce demands by participating in the 2007 Edmonton Workforce Connection initiatives.

Highly educated

Strathcona County offers an excellent educational infrastructure, including post-secondary colleges and technical institutes located in nearby Edmonton. The Alberta Research Council is linked to industrial development, providing an important resource base to increase the skill level of Strathcona County's employees.
