Upgrader Will Bring Spinoffs
There will be significant economic spinoffs from the expansion of the Athabasca Oil Sands Project (AOSP) which include the expansion of the Shell Scotford Upgrader in northern Strathcona County. According to Rene Rombout, Downstream Manager of the expansion, the new facility will open up 350 full-time jobs with Shell Canada as well as 100 contractor jobs, when it comes on stream in 2010.
