Premier moves decisively to provide Capital region with new planning tools
First step will create a regional board for area's 25 municipalities
Edmonton... Premier Ed Stelmach has accepted the majority of recommendations from a report on how the Capital region’s 25 municipalities can plan together. And to jumpstart the initiative he created a structure for a regional board to start building a regional plan. News Release -November 19, 2007

Kinder Morgan Proposes Terminal
On December 11, Kinder Morgan presented to Strathcona County Council a proposal to develop a sulphur terminal in Alberta's Industrial Heartland. The facility will handle sulphur production and minimize environmental impact to the region. PDF

Trans America Group Announces New Developments
Sherwood Business Park, North of Yellowhead, and Millennium Ridge are exciting new developments in Strathcona County. Trans America presented their future plans to Council on December 11. PDF

Trade, Investment & Labour Mobility Agreement
New provincial legislation implements an enforceable dispute resolution process under the Trade, Investment, and Labour Mobility Agreement (TILMA). This change to the Government Organization Amdendment Act was passed in the Alberta Legislature on December 5. Similar legislation is before the British Columbia legislature.
